Grade: 4.5 out of 5 (Outstanding)

Rationale: I adore Slumdog Millionaire. It’s not for everyone and there are a couple parts that aren’t pleasant to watch, but this is one of my favorite movies from the last 10 years. The writing is amazing and the acting, especially from the kids, is phenomenal. There’s not a thing I would change and not really anything I can criticize. I will say that even though The Dark Knight was my favorite movie from 2008 and should have been at least nominated for Best Picture, I have no problem at all with Slumdog Millionaire winning like it did in such a deserving fashion without The Dark Knight in contention.
