Grade: 2 out of 5 (Fair)

Rationale: Other than the ridiculous exaggerations from Julie Andrews' Maria and Christopher Plummer's Captain von Trapp about when they fell in love with each other (she was afraid of him and he detested her when they claimed it happened), the actual story in The Sound of Music is pretty good. It's the music that killed it for me. I have no problem with musicals or songs in movies, but the specific songs in The Sound of Music are too blah for my taste. It's hard for me to put my finger on exactly why I feel that way, I just do. There are other musicals I'd rather watch than see this again.
