Rationale: Alien is one of many movies that ends in a way that a sequel shouldn't be necessary, and though Aliens wasn't a bad sequel, it did seem unnecessary. The turn-off-your-brain action, which was the best part, was satisfactory throughout. My issues are with the similar ending regarding the stole-a-way alien trying one more time to kill everyone as Ripley and crew escape and the fact that Ripley was involved at all. Maybe it's just me, but if a ruthless, seemingly unstoppable alien just killed all of my crew and almost myself, I'm not going back to where that alien is regardless of the reason.
