Rationale: As the start of a three movie stretch where I knew little to nothing about the movies I was about to watch, I had few expectations for The Apartment. Thankfully, it turned out to be quite a pleasant surprise. Jack Lemmon was a delight as apartment owner and aspiring managerial candidate C.C. Baxter and his troubles with pushy bosses wanting to use his place for their affairs in exchange for a good word with their bosses had just the right amount of humor. Better still, the doctor and wife next door stole every scene they were in.
